I don't like to remove posts but if you've followed this Fan Forum closely the past few days you may have noticed I deleted two threads, both of which bragged up individuals who have done grievous injury to Jim Reeves' legacy and estate. I will not allow people to use this Fan Forum to promote either one of these individuals by posting links to where you can see these two men promote themselves as such great friends of Jim's, even though they both betrayed their friendships with the Reeveses.
Some have the attitude that "what's done is done" and we should "let bygones be bygones." That is not the way Larry and I feel about it. He worked many years to write about Jim's life and career and tell the truth, letting the chips fall where they may. I have the same attitude.
The people responsible for harming Jim and Mary's legacies need to be held accountable, and they will be HERE.
We are not going to pretend like certain individuals didn't do great harm to Jim's memory, just for the sake of "looking on the positive side of things."
So if you're expecting a whitewash, or anything less than the TRUTH here, you've come to the wrong forum.
I hate phonies and both of these guys are really the ultimate blowhards, and at least one of them should be in jail for colluding to defraud Mary. -- JULIE

Many of us don't know all the details of what people have done. And many of us, myself included, want to trust people and believe the best about them, if we can. But when you learn the truth about someone, and the truth contradicts your previous uninformed view of them, it is disappointing. But it also teaches you to beware of taking people as they present themselves, or in the case of singers, actors, etc., of taking them to be what they are presented to be. Everyone has faults. Some have more faults than others, and some have bigger faults than others. What you see on TV, or read about is never the full picture.
