We've been talking about vocalists from the past who had good voices and could actually SING as opposed to today's fakers who have to rely on "Auto Tune" to bring their off-key singing on pitch, and who then cheat their audiences by charging a fortune to see them in concert, only to mime the music!
Well, one singer whom I admire greatly is Rosemary Clooney, actor George Clooney's aunt. As you may know, I recently produced a new CD on her called "Rosemary Clooney: Rare & Unreleased" that you can find online.
But last year I produced a CD called "Bing Crosby & Rosemary Clooney: The New Recordings" and it is a beautiful collection of previously unreleased tracks which we overdubbed.
One song in particular demonstrates Rosey's incredible vocal abilities. I'd like for you to hear it in its entirety. The original was only a mono recording, but we transformed it into stereo with my musicians. If you've never heard one of my overdubs before, this is a good example. I hope you like it.
This can be found at: www.good-music.biz/bing.html (It would make a nice Christmas present to yourself or someone you care about. Hint hint.)
BTW, that is Arne Benoni playing electric guitar with my orchestra.
Click the link below to hear "Half As Much" -- a big Rosemary Clooney hit, but this time with new orchestration and in stereo!

Great overdub on this song! Rosemary Clooney had such a beautiful voice and singing style! Give me the good old days of music anytime! Most of what is put out today, I wouldn't even call music! Larry, I wonder if George Clooney or his Dad Nick Clooney (Rosemary's brother) has ever heard your overdubs on Rosemary. Do you have any idea or not if they have?

I have a close friend who knows George and his father Nick and was sending them a copy the latest CD, "Rosemary Clooney: Rare & Unreleased," for Christmas. Hope they don't see this post first!
You can read a blog I wrote about the two CDs I've produced that feature Rosey, by clicking the link below.
You'll also be able to hear some audio samples of songs that I did NOT include on the CD, and have never appeared on any record label before...
