Never too old to enjoy music

I want to share a video with you of an elderly woman playing the piano at a public place in Australia.

This proves you are never too old to enjoy music. Look at this blessed old soul, with her arthritic hands, gliding so gracefully and precisely over the keys, playing a song she wrote many years ago. INSPIRING. Too many elderly are forgotten about and neglected when they still have so much to offer this world.

Just beautiful, Larry! Thanks for posting this! When you look at this woman's hands, you wouldn't think she could play as well as she does, but WOW! A very uplifting video that I'm sure anyone would enjoy!

I am sure she is playing through pain, and that makes it even more awe inspiring.

What a great performance and incredible talent! She definitely brightens the world with her music. Thanks for sharing Larry.

Changing subjects, I have a sacred song that I downloaded from ITunes which supposedly Jim sang at the conclusion of one of his shows and it definitely needs an uplift. The title of the song is "When God dips his Love in My Heart."? As always, any song sung by the great Jim Reeves is beautiful and in this rendition, a female vocalist joins him at the chorus.

Would you have this song in your collection and if so, do you plan to overdub this at some point going forward?

That is an Opry performance with Rose Lee Maphis and is not good enough quality to overdub.

However, you will be delighted, I'm sure, to hear Jim perform from the stage of the Ryman Auditorium on the new CD, "Jim Reeves And Friends Live From Nashville." He does several religious songs, including ALTERNATE VERSIONS of what was on the CMF's Opry release from years ago.

Of the 23 songs by Jim, only ONE of his performances has been previously released. The rest are unissued.

This is a very historic release that also features other stars like Chet Atkins, Patsy Cline, the Jordanaires, Stringbean, June Carter (singing a duet with Reeves), etc.

The sound quality will amaze you. It far surpasses the CMF release, I can tell you with certainty.

Tooo bad Larry. I liked the lyrics and the tune. Glad that you included "Peace in the Valley" in the new CD, another favorite of mine. I do not have the CMF's Opry release, so the gems on this CD will be entirely new to me.

I have placed my order and can't wait to hear Jim alive from Nashville. What a treat!

That song "When God Dips His Love In My Heart" occurred in the middle of the show, on October 13, 1956. It was included on the CMF lp, along with the first song Jim Reeves sang on that show - "According To My Heart". The 3rd song from that show ("My Lips Are Sealed") has not been commercially released.
