Back in the '80's, I called the Jim Reeves Museum to order a few of Jim's LP's that were available there. Much to my surprise, it was Mary who answered the phone! I spoke with her for a few minutes, and told her that I was a very big fan of Jim's, and had been most of my life. She said that Jim would have been very happy to hear that. When I called the museum again a few months later, Mary answered again, and I was amazed that she recognized my voice and remembered my full name! When I received one of the LP's I ordered, there was a letter enclosed with it from Mary. She told me that the museum was sold out of the LP I had ordered, and that the enclosed copy was from her own personal collection. She said she was sending it to me because she did not want me to be disappointed. The LP was "A Touch Of Velvet", and I still have it. Whenever I look at it or listen to it, I will always remeber Mary's kindness and genorosity towards me.
