I was listening to WSM, Nashville, last night for a Jim Reeves tribute and Bill white had a six- minutes remembrance, including playing Four Walls, at 7:20 p.m. and that was it! Had Eddie Stubbs not been involved in a Bluegrass event at the Ryman he would have devoted the evening to remembering Jim.

Are you referring to Mary's nephew, Bill White? If so, this is the same man who sold his aunt down the river when she became ill. He allowed himself to be manipulated by the convicted bank fraud felon Ed Gregory into signing over all Mary's assets before Gregory had paid for them. Thus White idiotically breached his fiduciary responsibilities and relinquished her security interests. If a lawyer did that he or she would go to JAIL. But Rev. White has escaped accountability...in this life at least.
He told Judge Frank Clement that he was sure his aunt wanted to sell the estate to Gregory. Of course, he said this at the time Ed was currying favor with the good Reverend by booking this supposed man of the cloth to sing at his carnivals. Ed bought him a tuxedo and cowboy boots and Super Bowl tickets and took him to the White House. White was SUPPOSED to remain an impartial observer, and not allow himself to be suckered by Ed Gregory.
What I'm saying is that Bill White was a major contributing factor to the destruction of the Jim Reeves legacy. If he is the man who appeared on WSM with a tribute, that is egregious and deeply offensive to everyone who knows the truth. And WSM should be informed of this.
That station has gone down hill so badly in recent years anyway, and the days of it carrying the Opry are numbered. It is destined drop the Opry sooner than later. My prediction, based on inside knowledge of the station's management and financial standing.

Hi Larry,
I don't think this was the same Bill White as he "sounded" too young. He did mention a show he did in Little Rock recently and all the road construction on I-40 both ways. He did mention the Carthage Museum and the gravesite. He didn't say he was related to Jim either.

It would be a pretty big coincidence if there was another Bill White doing a Reeves tribute. This guy gets around. He even made a trip to India where he got press promoting himself as Jim's nephew. Yet as I explained, Rev. White was the pivotal person who put the Reeves estate in the hands of a convicted bank fraud felon (although he had help from one of Mary's own brothers, who betrayed her, and helped the sale occur, commenting "I don't give a damn about Jim's legacy.").
HOW DID THIS GUY WHITE GET ON WSM? If anyone knows the details, please post them here.
