Some Pictures Of Jim Recording his Christmas Album

This article is about RCA Studio A being sold, but they have photos of Jim recording in Studio B but imply by saying "..in the studio.." that the photos were taken in Studio A, anyway intersting photos that I have never seen of Jim's Christmas Album session.

Hey Jack,

Got a question for you that has been on my mind for a spell.Bill Justis is shown in these photos once or twice.I have gone back to my notes about the Xmas songs being recorded at the RCA studio on Hawkins Street and can find no mention of Bill Justis being involved in those two October sessions at all. Was he even there and what was his actual role? Just curious ! In fact I cannot even find his name for any of JRs sessions yet it appears as if was somewhat involved in least one session and perhaps even more. Cheers

Of course he was there. For both sessions. You apparently didn't read my book, "Jim Reeves: His Untold Story," where I talk extensively about the sessions and Bill.

Evening Jack,

Obviously, I experienced what they call a "senior moment" in that on page 434 of Larry's book the role of Bill Justis as an arranger at the sessions is explained in detail My notes were obviously out of date. Cheers

Thanks for the heads up on that article, Jack. I just ordered framed prints of some of those Jim Reeves photos. It's a neat feature to be able to order prints like that, framed and all. :-)
