I just read that there is a movie being aired on television called "The Unauthorized Story of Saved By the Bell"...this is the garbage that is being put out? This is what the powers that be think is INTERESTING?? Also, ANOTHER biopic of Hank Williams? C'mon, I know the question has been asked a thousand times...when is it Jim's time??? There is not an artist who has been given a biopic, a documentary, or tribute album who can measure the interesting and entertaining story of Gentleman Jim. Am I alone in thinking there is a deliberate shunning going on??? Sorry for the rant... Hope everyone has a great weekend! :-)

Tom, I've always felt it was deliberate how Jim is ignored. Here on Long Island where I live, you never hear even one song of his on the radio--NOT ONE! Can you imagine? As great as he is, here it's like he was never born! I get so disgusted every time I think about it. And the crap they call music today...

Here in the South West of England I guess we are lucky in comparison then,Jim seems to get requested every other week on our BBC Radio Devon radio station, some of his songs have been played so often they are put on a 16 week 'rotation',he also has frequent plays on BBC Radio 2,on 'Sunday Morning Love Songs',I also mentioned a short while ago that his version of 'Marie Elena' was heard in an episode of 'Call The Mid-wife' on BBC TV.

You're very lucky, indeed, David! I very rarely come in contact with anyone here who has even heard of Jim! It's hard to believe, but I'm afraid it's true. I remember one time a few years back when I actually heard "He'll Have To Go" on my car radio. It was such a rare thing that I almost drove off the road. What's even more tragic is that after the song ended, the DJ said "That was "He'll Have To Go" by JOE Reeves"! Anyway, a belated Happy Birthday to you!
