Hello. Within the last 15 minutes the Great Jim Reeves 8CD set arrived through the post. I am amazed how quickly they have arrived. Only a quick scan of the package and will review in time. The booklet alone though looks great. Re the surprise note inside the package. I would urge all fans, if finances allow, to purchases the CD set, you will be excited to read the note inside. Keith.

The New CD set. Through the letterbox Saturday morning arrived a complimentary copy of the new 8 cd set H & H / Voice Masters “The Great Jim Reeves” of which the presentation is superb. So it goes without saying it was straight in my stereo system.... The first cd. “Early years” and the 2nd cd “Rarities & Alternative Vocals Although previously released with new instrumentation and arrangements, when listening on my studio monitors and then on my B&O highfi until you own this set you will not appreciate the clarity of Jim’s voice! This is evident throughout the whole 8 cd’s. CD 3 “Gospel” I would pay the full price of this package just for this cd alone. Oh Gentle Shepherd, I’d rather have Jesus, Have thine own way, lord (You will feel like Jim’s sitting next to you) that’s how clear his voice is. Padre of San Antone, unlike the original, vocal clear yet smooth. The new arrangements have been applied with care and feel, and I am sure you will hear where I am coming from when you play them. I just love this cd..... In all there are plenty of classics with new instrumental arrangements that I feel are exceptional throughout the set but the real noticeable is Jim’ voice. If you are a Jim Reeves fan, I can’t see you not wanting this collection, you won’t be disappointed. I have no doubt I have now made a bigger wedge between my fellow Jim Reeves fans in Europe by posting this opinion of the new release but it is exceptional, however, please consider that R.C.A or BMG/Sony do not seem to be active in releasing anything special, not that they have that much I suppose. I wish Mr Curb in Nashville would go through his many Jim Reeves Enterprises acetates and live show tapes that he has (I have seen them) those that feature Jim would be well received. I have come off the fence with this posting, I had to, it’s a significant release. Tony Wall

It was a pleasant surprise and most gratifying to read such a nice review from Tony Wall upon sitting down to my computer this morning. When Tony refers to his now having driven "a bigger wedge between my fellow Jim Reeves fans in Europe" and himself, please understand that -- without saying it -- he's really referring to a very tiny little fractious group of malcontents and jealous haters and NOT the overwhelming majority of Jim's European fans.
In fact, 2/3s of the orders we receive come from Europe! So Mr. Reeves has many fans there who are loyal customers and buy the VoiceMaters releases.
It is also gratifying to know that fans are noticing the big improvement in how well you can hear Jim on the new 8 CD set, "The Great Jim Reeves." I've worked very hard to always make all the CDs I produce -- whether it be on Patsy Cline, Bing Crosby/Rosemary Clooney, et al -- elevate the artists into the vocal spotlight so you hear them with added clarity. I never let the new music get in the way.
P.S. to Tony: I just hope Mr. Bussey doesn't burn a cross on your front lawn.
I have just started listening to my copy. I cannot express enough the sheer joy and my amazement on the sound quality and want everyone to know!! I will leave a comment on Amazon in due course. A BIG BIG thank you to you Larry Jordon for all the hard work and love obviously poured into these recordings and the equally well written booklet within! I think this will be a great present for a few people I know who also admire Jim Reeves. Come on UK fans and write to the BBC and get them to feature some of these tracks on their country show on BBC Radio 2.
Thanks again.
Regards,
