Larry do you think a movie might be made of Jim's life? Just as long as they played his music and not some other singer doing the music. It would be better than any other singer Hollywood has done. Sure would bring a lot of publicity and money to a worthy cause that Jim would have been proud to help. I would sure be in the front row to see it. So would my dad. Just a thought.

Sorry for posting this one about the movie. After being on the site I se where this topic has been discussed throughly. However...a good Jim Reeves movie has my vote. Only if it would help a worthy cause that he would have been proud to have supported.

Hi Steve, and welcome to the forum. Before I discovered this site, I thought I was the only Jim Reeves fan in the world too. It was nice to find out that he still has such a big following all over the world. I agree with you that there should be a movie about Jim. It's long overdue, but like some other fans have said, I can't think of anyone playing him that would do him justice. I always thought that maybe a really good documentary on Jim would be a better idea. I'm talking about something that Ken Burns might do. His documentaries are done so well, and that is exactly the kind of treatment that Jim deserves. A film like this might also give us fans a chance to see a lot of film footage on Jim that we've been wanting to see for years that might still not be available. If Larry was able to get together with Ken Burns for a project like this, I think it would be the best film on Jim that we could hope for, and that's saying a lot!

yep I agree. I think it is time to let folks know what kind of a man Jim really was. It might inspire some artist to really go far. The skyis the limit even today. and maye it would help some worth cause to get some funding that Jim would have liked.
Just an Observation

Anybody else out there make the observation that Johhny Carson and Jim Reeves resemble each other maybe just a little? I saw a clip the other night on TV of Johhny playing and singing a song accompanying himself on a guitar. He was quite good actually. I did a double take because it reminded me of the way Jim sang and played.
I realize this is VERY late, I had just never seen this post. I, too, believe there was a resemblance between Jim and Johnny Carson. In particular, the cover of the "Jim Reeves Medley" album. I thought it was just me.
