I was listening to my usual radio station earlier this week in my workshop. "Seaside FM" in Halifax plays mostly oldies and is run by volunteers our age.

The morning host Robin Taylor, played Jim's "I Guess I'm Crazy' which I appreciate whenever someone plays Jim on the radio these days. Actually the station plays a lot of Jim's songs. An hour later she played two more back to back. "He'll Have To Go' by Jim, then "He'll Have To Stay" by Skeeter Davis. She briefly talked about Jim's biggest hit and wanted to include the "Answer Song" as a bonus. By the way, many of you probably are familiar with Jeannie Black who did the same song on the CD "The Jim Reeves Connection". A very good version.

I have always (right or wrong) kind of felt an "Answer Song" to be, shall we say, a slight to the original. Also felt it to be a bit of a tacky way to make money off the artists original release. But some may say its a compliment. So for me I guess the Jury is still out on this issue.

I am hoping some of the good folks from our Forum Family will add their opinion as pro or con on this matter. Not a big deal either way but will make for some much needed interesting opinions hopefully.
