That's a good question Mike. The one thing we DO know is that it was sent at 11:23 a.m. from Madison, Tennessee (the same town, of course, where Mary and Jim lived, as did Col. Tom Parker).

Jim started an eight-week run of hosting the Ozark/Country Music Jubilee on June 28, 1958 so it possibly could have been sent that day.


The telegram refers to Jim's appearance "tonight" so it obviously was sent the same day as one of his guest slots on the show.
