I have done a quick check on Jim's "Could I Be Falling In Love". On page 516 from Larry's book...'Jim Reeves .. His Untold Story', it mentions this song, along with Ray Baker's inclusion of a song he wrote "The Search Is Ended" for the "Kimberley Jim" movie. Ray says that it (The Search...") was not in the movie, only used to 'fill out the album'. (I assume by 'Album' he was referring to the 'Soundtrack'). I also seem to believe that 'Could I...' was used in the same way. ie. this song excluded from the movie but appears on the Soundtrack (as a filler). A bit of what happened in the "Elf" story for the song "Jingle Bells'..
Jim must have been confused when he stated that "Could I..." was in the movie. Probably right and little wonder he was puzzled by all of this.
We will never be able to unravel the thinking process in choosing what song(s) show up in a movie or its Soundtrack. Another glowing example of this has to be the Elvis movie/soundtrack issues. Very confusing and difficult to follow...
