One thought I had today was, who has such a wonderful voice that he could record an entire album of spoken recitations, every one being a musical work of art? (Talking to your Heart)
Also, how about all the artists that did Jim Reeves tribute albums. The list is long and distinguished. I'll bet my house there will be no mention of that. Or the Movie "Kimberly Jim", nothing I bet.
Ken Burns crew are now holding programs in my area (Northampton Massachusetts) promoting the documentary, according to local news. They, like what we see advertised by PBS about the documentary, are terrible in my view. At least what I saw on local news short excerpts.
I think these postings should be transferred to the Facebook Page for greater exposure and garner more input.
I tried my best in 2013, to get Jim Reeves proper recognition but failed. I spent 4 years in High School sitting next to Carlos Vega the deceased father of Aaron Vega Burns film editor yet could get no response from PBS, or Burns regarding Jim Reeves inclusion in their documentary.
These people know everything and don't recognize or accept opinions beyond their own. Check out Ken Burns support for Hampshire College where he was educated. The place is a FAILURE, Burns is single handedly trying to fund the college institution which, last I heard, had about 15 students enrolled. They grade THEMSELVES, talk about crazy. Parents have commented on the internet about removing their children and enrolling them in "REAL" colleges.
They are not as smart as they think, yet it appears that this documentary is being vigorously promoted as one of Ken Burns best. I think not, so far without seeing it.
Like I said before this is probably a "crime of omission", and a travesty to Country Music and the Nashville Sound.
