I also have been watching everything I can find on you-tube about Jim. I was amazed how much stuff is on there. Some of Jims videos are good and some are just flat dreadful. I was most surprised that even into the late 50's, Jim was still wearing western garb. There he was singing 'Blue Boy" and Billy Bayou" in kind of a hay seed way that is more like early videos of him singing "Mexican Joe". I had thought after "Four Walls", that he went to suits and ties. I realize he had to play to both his hardcore country fans and his new countrypolitan fans. But I guess I just didn't think about it. This just must have been a transition time for him. But after "He'll have to go" he really polished everything up. Nothing but Tuxedos and Suits. I think Larry commented on Jims appearance on the Jimmy Dean Show. Jims makeup was awful, but I very much enjoyed the video. He sure learned how to use that wonderful voice when he sang live, didn't he?
I hope to order the DVD of Jim singing live that Larry put out soon. You-tube only has only wetted my appetite and as I said, some of the videos there are awful. Can't wait to get the DVD.
Needless to say, I have had a boat load of fun with this new fangled thing called high speed internet!!!! The 21st century is an amazing place! Now all my friends tell me I need a cell phone......well, I still have a lot of century left to get one of those things!!!!
I wish Larry, Julie, Sara, and everyone a safe and prosperous 2015.
