Just had a look st Jim performing Mexican Joe on the Tex Ritter "Chuck Wagon" show in the 1950's. Fantastic performance. I know these two met up a few times in the 1950's but there is no record of them associating later in Jim's career.
I had a look at many Internet sites involving Tex and in the process of looking for Tex's recording of "Fall Away" (which I can't get hold of for love nor money as it has not seen the light of day since 1974, even on CD) It seems the Jim and Tax didnt cross paths very much even though Tex did a lovely eulogy to Jim (date unknown) preceding the song "He'll Have To Go" in a 1996 BBC Radio 2 1964 special hosted by the late Wally Whyton.
It seems Tex thought a great deal of Jim.
