The comments Mr. Atkinson made in his "review" of Sara's novella are inane. But the symbolism of his now spreading his bile into Sara's life should prompt all those who have been so frenzied to defend him of late to disassociate themselves from his involving Sara in his hateful campaign against me.
When Sara was introduced to former President Bill Clinton (who attended my brother in law's funeral in Iowa a few years ago), my sister-in-law said, "Mr. President, I'd like you to meet a future United States Senator." Sara and Mr. Clinton sat across from each other at a private reception at a country club following the funeral service, and chatted for an hour or more. As he was getting ready to leave, he so enjoyed his conversation with this bright young lady that he put his arm around her and posed for a picture (see it below).
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, while running for President of the United States, made numerous trips to our state as it is the first-in-the-nation precinct caucuses. Our sister in law, the former Attorney General of Iowa, served in a high campaign capacity for Hillary and hence Sara was privileged to meet Mrs. Clinton privately on more than one occasion. The next time Mrs. Clinton came to Iowa it was with her daughter Chelsea, and when she spotted Sara in the crowd she took her daughter in hand and led her over to where Sara was standing and said she wanted the two of them to meet.
Now THIS is the young woman whom Frank Anderson first started writing about on Arie den Dulk's site years ago, and now Peter Atkinson has picked up the tradition and is sticking his nose into my daughter's affairs.
How would any parent feel about that?
