Link: Larry's Jim Reeves Blog
He showed me the latest stats and they skyrocketed on July 31st. Apparently people who have visited his blog decided to look there on the 50th anniversary to see if he had posted anything.
According to Google, which keeps track of traffic statistics, Larry has had 62,778 visits in recent months! I am impressed. In the last month alone he has had 2,090. So he is really reaching a nice sized audience of Reeves fans.
To visit the Jim Reeves blog that's tied in with Larry's book, click the link below and keep checking back because I know he is going to be posting some major new information that will be fascinating (with photos). I don't know exactly when he's going to be doing that, however, because he is working on THREE new overdub projects for THREE separate artists -- NOT Jim. I don't see how he juggles all that but he does. Two of them are major female stars and one is a major male star and all of the music is just grand. I heard some of it last night and it's very exciting.
I listened to some fantastic, Big Band-style arrangements, that are really HOT with a superb female vocalist. We're starting to call his group of musicians the "VoiceMasters orchestra" because they have become over the years a very tight-knit, cohesive group that fits together well. They really can SWING. You wouldn't believe how great this sounded unless you heard it yourself...which you will. As with Jim Reeves, all of Larry's albums on other artists will include previously unreleased material that he has managed to track down. He knows how to network and get in touch with collectors who have this material. I like the fact that Billboard and others call him a "historian," and he teases our daughter, Sara, that he got to become a historian without spending four years in college earning a degree like she did! (Sara has two degrees, one in History).
So VoiceMasters will release three or four new (non-Reeves) CDs hopefully over the next several months.
Anyway, click the link below and explore his site! -- JULIE
