In fact, he produced a wonderful book a few years ago called "American Music Legends," which contained many of his photos and I was honored to write an essay on Jim for the book. It was sold through more than 5500 Cracker Barrel restaurants nationwide and you can still pick up a copy on eBay. It is well worth having; I hope you acquire a copy.
Also, daughter Libby authored a fine book called "Saturday Nights With Daddy at the Opry," (by Libby Leverett-Crew), which is available through Amazon.
Les recently underwent a heart procedure and was recovering at the time his precious wife of so many years (who suffered from Alzheimer's, as did my dear Mother) passed away. You can imagine how this must grieve him.
Mr. Leverett is the single most important photographer to document the Nashville music scene and specifically the Grand Ole Opry. Perhaps without even realizing it, you have seen many of his pictures. He has helped me, I was honored to be invited to a terrific party at Les and Dot's home a few years ago, and he also contributed a very rare photo of Jim on stage at Carnegie Hall, which appears in my book, "Jim Reeves: His Untold Story."
We extend our sincere condolences to Les and his family. Jim's beautiful song, "Precious Memories," comes to mind at this sad time...
