Link: Hear "Am I Losing You" overdub
He wrote: "Jim probably never quite nailed the song to perfection as he saw it, but thankfully RONNIE MILSAP FINALLY DID IT FOR HIM and I’m sure Jim would have approved." And Bussey used to run a Jim Reeves fan club?????
Let's see a show of hands. How many fans out there think Ronnie's version was perfection and Jim's was not?
Just click the link below to listen to a sample of the gorgeous VoiceMasters overdub of "Am I Losing You," featuring a previously unreleased vocal by Jim that Larry located, remastered, and then had his musicians add new instrumentation to. Hear those pretty strings and new choral backing (which, incidentally, Larry arranged).
This is NOT the RCA version, but Reeves recorded it for his radio show and VoiceMasters transformed it into a release of commercial quality. It is absolutely the BEST version Jim ever sang, and while Ronnie's fine album tribute to Gentleman Jim was a nice LP, only Mr. Velvet could sing the song this good.
Be sure to turn up your speakers and enjoy this! -- JULIE
