Elmer and I were invited to go to Nashville with our good friend Johnny "T" Talley and his wife and daughter. Johnny was our country disk jockey in Minneapolis at the time. We went for the disk jockey convention but Jim was also doing his daily radio show. So Elmer and I attended two of those live shows. They were very lively, cast members including Jim would joke back and forth. Plus all the great music.
I distinctly remember at one of the shows Jim sang "Anna Marie", his latest release I believe. I remember this because after the show was over Jim came out in the audience and sat and visited with Elmer and me. I asked him what "sabot sabot meami pacoo" (spelling) means. Jim looked me right in the eye and said something like "my darling, I love you very much" or something to that effect. It kinda flustered me, still does!
So now I see that in one of these new CDs Jim sings "Anna Marie" so I am hoping this was the show we attended.
I am definitely going to order these tapes, they will be wonderful! Anything new released by Jim after 50 years is definitely something to be attained and treasured.
Good job, Larry. Thank you so much for finding these rare gems and sharing them with all of us.
Always for Jim, Doris Gath
