God made us in his image.
Like God, humans are also 3 important parts comprised as one. We have a mind(knowledge of self i.e. your intellect and experiences), body, and spirit. Like God, we are intelligent beings with the power of free will. We are the most special creation on earth.

God formed man from the dust of the earth, and If you study the human body, you'll discover that we share elements that can be found in the earth's crust, such as oxygen, hydrogen, and carbon. This scientific discovery confirms what The Bible says. But as Christians (Followers of God the Son Jesus Christ), all we need is faith.
The old testament of The Bible was originally written in Hebrew and the new testament was originally written in Greek.
Soul is the translation of the Greek word psyche. This word also meant something similar to mind(knowledge of self), and it is where we get the word psychology.
Soul can also mean living being when translated from the Hebrew word Nephesh. Most people regard soul and spirt as being synonymous and use them interchangeably. According to my studies only soul appears to be used as "the mind"(knowledge of self) on occasion.
