I’ve been interested in voice technology lately and started wondering how much work actually goes into creating a personal AI assistant.

There are already many ready-made assistants available, but building something custom sounds like a great way to learn about speech recognition, AI models, automation, and how different systems connect together.

I’ve been looking into how to make an AI voice assistant, but there seems to be a lot of information and different approaches depending on what you want it to do.

Has anyone here tried building one from scratch? Did you use existing APIs and tools, or did you create most of the system yourself?
