Flexibility matters most to me when a match develops in a way that was difficult to predict beforehand. A red card, injury, early goal, or sudden change in pressure can make the original bet feel much less attractive. Having another option can be useful, although I would not want to change positions every few minutes. I think the real advantage is simply knowing that you are not completely tied to the first decision if the situation changes significantly.
