One day there was the familiar garden fence, the same old view, and then suddenly... boom. Scaffolding, skips, and the hum of builders with a mission. Fast-forward a few months, and their home now stretches out into the garden with a sleek new kitchen-diner, bifold doors, and what I can only assume is underfloor heating (because why not?).
At first, I was curious. Then envious. And finally—I’ll admit it—slightly obsessed.
It got me thinking about my own space. I love my home, but like many houses of a certain age, it could do with a bit more flow. A bit more light. A bit more oomph. I’ve been mentally rearranging furniture, imagining what Sunday mornings would feel like with coffee in a sun-drenched extension. And yes, I may have started sketching ideas on napkins.
