Re: Building the D&E Gatling Gun to take 22LR??
The only reason I asked was because the D&E is more of a scaled replica of the real thing where as the RGG is a functional representation of a G-Gun. I have studied plans for both. If you already started on the D&E I think that it would not be easily converted to LR, for one thing the stroke of the bolts would have to be lengthened. Also the head space lock up on the RGG is a lot more robust than on the D&E to handle the increased pressures of the LR. I wanted I realistic looking gun that fired LR, what I did is build a half scale 1879 G-Gun using the D&E plans for the exterior stuff but with the interior guts of the RGG machine. I am real happy with the finished product. For anyone that happened to be at the Notrh American Model Engineering (NAMES) Expo in Toledo last year I had the gun on display. Joe B
