I have started a Gatling Gun using brand-new Lithgow-Slazenger .22LR barrels turned down to 1/2" outside diameter, rechambered and 16" long instead of 12". I am planning to mount this gun on a surplus Australian Army signallers' tripod. To be legal in the state of Victoria, the piece has to be 750mm or longer overall with 16" barrels.
These 16" barrels are still not enough to bring it up to minimum length, so to achieve this I am going to make up a scale 1879-type pointing bar and swivelling yoke mount. I was wondering if any of you have already done this and if drawings would be available? (No point in re-inventing the wheel!) The 1879 pointing bar is shown in Wahl and Toppel on p.97, or p.91 in Hughes.
Paul, do you have such plans?
Later plans could include an oscillator, screw jack and carriage mount. Maybe!
Thanks guys,
Pete.
