you can try using "insecticidal soap" (you can find it at most any place that sells garden supplies) which literally "dries out" the insects that are coasted with the soap. acephate (aka "orthene" and several other brand names) is a systemic pesticide that not only kills the bugs that you hit with it at the time of application/spraying but has residual effects that will kill sucking insects for up to a week after application. use it early in the morning or later in the evening to avoid killing beneficial insects. either control may need to be applied several times to obtain control especially the soap which only kills the bugs it contacts and has no residual protective effects. hope this helps. good luck.
