FWIW, most past introductions of pulchella/linearis (a most beautiful species from lower elevation parts of Tasmania) have not proven long-term hardy in most of the PNW---it has been used in California and the "sunset western garden book" used to list it for a number of gardening zones there. OTOH, e. scoparia from higher elevation areas of extreme southern Queensland (and adjacent northern N.S.W.) has proven hardy and fast-growing in my garden with similar smooth light cream to white bark and narrow "willow-like" foliage---I would strongly suggest you take a look at that species for experimenting.
