Re: Eucalyptus Neglecta in Wisconsin
I think SE Wisconsin is probably colder, I'll have to consult the USDA zone map. I ordered the E. neglecta from Plant Delights Nursery (Raleigh North Carolina)in the Spring of 2007. It was proabaly about a foot tall when I planted it in early May 2007. You're right, it grew a lot this year and I'm going to have a hard time stuffing the branches down into my 10ft tall greenhouse, but the branches do bend. In the Spring the tree will look bent out of shape when I take down the greenhouse, but I expect, as was the case last year, that within 3-4 weeks after growth resumes they will straighten out. I do have seed and will be glad to mail you some at no charge-contact me at email@example.com with your mailing info. The one I havn't figured out is that the seeds appeared on the tree in July and I expected that they would turn into flowers, but that hasn't happened yet. Many are still in little clusters on the tree, but some are falling out onto the ground and I've collected quite a few of them.
