, as it may help see some of the consequences. It also helps see that even if conservation is necessary, and even if it surely is very "well seen", it costs money. Not once. Every day. Every year. In this case, it does not only cost money, it also dooms many families of rural Australia to no future.
But, besides that all, maybe more important, it helps see that sometimes, we forget that what we fight to preserve... is really a product of human activity, and not a pristine world fantasy. Managing natural resources so they last "ad infinitum" is difficult. But thinking they will last forever if we stop all activity on them is naive. Nature has its own ways, its own cycles, beyond our control. With or without us.
