Mine did as well, but it had only just started doing so when I loaned it to a friend. She was horrified when it did and got it rebound. I felt a bit guilty that she went to all the trouble, and protested, but I am very grateful she did. It's almost as good as new now. I had no idea when I first got the book that it would be so valuable now. I'm glad you like the site, it's there for all of us in the Edward Whittemore Appreciation Society. Anne

: Indeed. Especially considering the likelihood
: of finding a near mint copy of Jerusalem
: Poker's first edition. I have a very good
: copy myself, but I'm almost afraid to even
: open it. The last copy I had, even though
: I read it very carefully, fell apart as I
: read it, the pages becoming detached from
: the spine in chunks. I'm decided to play
: it safe and keep a paperback copy around.
: Thankfully, the other books in the Quartet
: don't have this problem.
: BTW, I was very glad to have found this
: website. For the longest time I had never
: met anyone else who had even heard of
: Whittemore or any of his novels.

: I belong the happy ones to have all five
: books
: in hardcover edition. Took me a while,
: though.
: A good start to the search might be on: :
: A word of caution: I would be careful with
: the quality statements of some sellers.
: Good luck!
