I also like your nine books that should be made into film list. In a similar vein I always wondered why Minority Report by PK Dick wasn't made into a film. I guess it sometimes takes fifty years for a great story to hit the cellulod screen (digital processor these days). I plan to read some of the nine if I can find them. On another track, ten books that should be films from the crime and detective story bookshelf include The Burke Series by Andrew Vachss. I recommend readers that like tough gritty, 'vengence is mine' contemporary crime drama read Vachss. Start with the first one "Flood." I think the Nolan Brothers (Memento, Following, Insommnia) should tackle this movie. Enough said, I'm off the Amazon.ca to order the first two Whittemore's, they're on sale!!! thanks thanks for a new read
I'm new to Edward Whittemore and want to thank you for the great and informative site. I just read a good essay on Whittemore in the April or May edition of Harper's. I was intrigued right away and even more so now that I've flipped through your website. I recommend you post a link or reference to the Harper's article.
