Any links recommended for learning the basics and how-tos of light show setup? And if you are willing to start my education here's what is going on: part-time bar band moving into part-time corporate. I have acquired enough truss to make a 13' x 13' box. I currently own (8) Par 56s, (8) Par 38s, 6 pinspots, a Martin Acrobat, an Amer DJ Topaz (water shimmer effect), a hazer, and I have (4) Elation dimmer packs (4 channel, 20 amp), an FC-400 foot controller. I have learned how to set up scenes and use the chase programs in these controllers. I just bought a Chauvet Stage Designer - 48 channels. Now, I understand the Martin will use quite a few channels for pan and tilt and gobos and all, but how do I maximize control of my floods with just 4 dimmer pack channels? And how do I control non DMX like the Topaz - there's no where to plug it into the Chauvet, other than taking up a channel in the dimmer pack? Thanks in advance.
