Does anyone have any flow-charts or sample source code for a single channel DMX controlled light dimmer using a PIC16C54? I've searched the internet endlessly and found nothing useful. I need information on every process; receiving the dimmer data (RS-485), setting up the counter, firing the triac, etc. I have some knowledge on how to configure the device address (using a DIP switch), software interrupts and the DMX protocol. I realize it would be simpler using an external counter to fire the triac, it would even be simpler using a PIC with an interrupt (for the zero crossing) however I would like to experiment with the possibility doing everything with with a low-end PIC because I have about 50 of them kicking around.
