The stars of NASCAR will continue racing during the coronavirus shutdown but will take their talents to the digital world instead.
In conjunction with iRacing, NASCAR revealed the formation of the eNASCAR iRacing Pro Invitational Series on Tuesday night, an exhibition series that will feature many of the most successful real-world racers in professional stock car racing.
The multi-race series will begin on Sunday (1:30 p.m. ET) at the virtual Homestead-Miami Speedway with a broadcast partner to be decided. Sources have indicated to Autoweek that NASCAR would like to air the event on FOX Sports or NBC Sports Network, but there are questions about the feasibility of such an endeavor given that most studios have temporarily shuttered due to the quarantine.
The eNASCAR iRacing Pro Invitational Series does not have a finalized roster but currently includes commitments from Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin, Clint Bowyer, Kyle Larson and Christopher Bell. https://www.autoweek.com/racing/nascar/a31717053/nascar-stars-to-compete-in-weekly-iracing-series-during-shutdown/When I look into the future its so bright it hurts my eyes... I know it's done on the computer but wondered if maybe You Tube shows this kind of thing. Wonder if it was the brain child of Dale Jr to do this? LIFE may be like a box of chocolates, but not Dale Jr. With him, you always know what you are getting!
