It's hard to realize that our feisty Carol will no longer be around to raise my blood pressure from time to time. She had been a part of my life for so long... more involved behind the scenes than apparent. I'm going to miss her.
I'm now in the sunny south again. Temperatures that in other years I might have considered mild up north were really chilly for me since I didn't acclimate to them. There are pluses and minus's in both locations that take a little time to get adjusted to.
I'm seeing the bright lights, snowflakes, Santa Claus and elves..festive things up north that are far less visible here. Last year, before the pandemic, it was hard to get into the spirit without them. This year we put up a small lighted tree in the Florida room, visible from the outside and several poinsettia plants so it's much more festive..storage of something used for such a short time is impractical. (I have a shed full of lights and decorations up north that I failed to distribute when I could have.)
