Last night, to get an answer to my question, I called the page operator for any one on call in Neurology, and eventually spoke to a young resident. She was able to partly answer, and advised me to call back on Monday to the office of his MDS. Then this afternoon, lo and behold, the fellow (dr) working under the DBS called me! He'd been advised that I'd called the neurologist on call last night. He walked me through a check of the remote that controls the settings in Mike's brain, and was satisfied that the batteries were still working, and the setting was OK. So I'm feeling better about that, at least. He would like me to try to change the settings again, to something that Mike did not do well on. I will discuss this further with Mike.
