They removed the brace because it would not stay "set" and was rubbing skin off despite padding. The surgeon said to take it off so they did. They added a water mattress to my bed to help prevent sores. I was also visited by their extended home services. They believe I'll need physical (how about some mental therapy?)therapy beyond the 2 weeks I'll get here. They'll also teach RR how to help me - Medicare will cover it.
Your daughter's brace was for a very different condition but the one I had did have a joint to bend at the waist. And THAT was it's weak point.
