There was an article about those working for these warehouses like Amazon. Workers complain the work is hard, rushed, doesn't pay all that well and the benefits if any are not the best. They go home exhausted. Turnover is high.
What trades need people? Here we have plenty of plumbers and roofers and painters and house cleaners and tree trimmers/removers and construction workers. The only thing I'm aware of that is needed here are health care workers. Nurses (LPNs) and aids in nursing homes and those assisted living places. They are the only ones in short supply.
Unless conditions improve for workers in warehouses that have to pack orders (again think Amazon, Chewy) there will be a shortage of those people as well.
We do order some stuff online and so far so good. But I like to see and feel and examine things before buying them.
