Tonight is the covered dish dinner across the road. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone. RR is making a green bean casserole - always popular. I don't cook much anymore because I can't stand for more than 5 minutes at a time. I believe I will end up in a wheelchair before the grim-reaper comes for me.
The three wheel (fat wheel) scooter is great for running around the property. I use that when I'm outside. Jane and I were working on the large flower pots out front. I bought some beautiful snapdragons. I'm teaching her and my son what I know about plants and gardening, both in the ground and in pots. Since she's working now she's in a much better frame of mind and is showing more interest in things. Unfortunately she has to commute to Gainsville where the University is.
My son is doing well on his job too and loves it. He has a lot of free time and many Fridays no clients to see at all - or just one in the morning giving him the rest of the day off. Yesterday he worked in his garden area at the back of our property. He has it looking like some kind of botanical garden back there. We're planning to put up an inexpensive reed fence to give it a background. BTW, both of them are also cat people.
Murphy and Bootzie. Two who came, were vetted, and stayed. Murphy (orange cat) rides on the 3 wheel scooter with me. He lays in my lap and enjoys the ride. He's a real lap cat. Boo on the other hand is not. She doesn't even like being picked up or cuddled. She gives us a greeting, tolerates a few pats to the shoulders (don't want her head touched) and spends most days off on adventures.
These are the other 3 that are indoor-only cats. All girls. Zephyr, Callie and Phaedra. They're 8,9 and 10 yrs old now. Where has the time gone?
