Re: It's a Small World - Elle
With so many homeless people these days, and the number growing every day, squatters are becoming a real problem in some areas. We have them here also. The place mentioned in my reply to Mama has had at least 4 in the past 3+ years we're living here. Twice I saw the Ocala police there talking to squatters who would leave - just to have another one move in sooner or later. The newest one is turning the lot into a dump site. We saw him, on our way to town, bringing in a trailer load of assorted old washing machines, broken chairs, a filthy mattress,... this one appears to be some kind of hoarder. He even brought in a wrecked but still rolling small camper. He took it all apart and the now scattered parts are all still there. I suppose the people around him are tired of calling the police because another squatter shows up.
The MH can't be livable as it's literally rotting away. The windows are all broken. There's no electricity. The front door is missing. FL doesn't do anything about these broken down places. Off the beaten path we have seen people living in ones just as bad.
