Re: New Year's eve.
Quiet New Year's Eve as they have been for the most part in recent years. I don't like being out on the road at night and particularly on a nite when so many people are drinking. We invited one of our new neighbors, who was alone, to come over to watch the New Year's festivities in Time Square with us. (It was the most unfamiliar version of the show I've ever watched. I kept thinking George had switched the channels.) There were some firecrackers going off periodically and Maggie is scared of them so she wouldn't go out. Our guest left about 11:00 and too many hours since Maggie was out so I took her out not realizing how close to midnight it was. The fireworks were going full blast and it was a waste of time but I came in to realize I had missed the ball dropping and was annoyed that I spent the evening waiting for it and it was all over and that really was a waste of time!
