What I found was a note posted by her son about her death three weeks ago.
For several years, from '53 to '55, we were like the three Musketeers, together everyday. I just found out tonight, because I looked for them, that Joan had passed in 2013, and now Ro last month. Two of us knew our future husbands in high school and we double-dated. I was maid of honor to one, and one of them was supposed to be maid of honor to me. Of the three couples, six people, I am the only one left.
It made me think of my first husband, his two brothers and their wives. His middle brother was best man at our wedding, and his oldest sister-in-law was my matron of honor. Of the three couples, the six of us, I am the only one left. Of all 10, I am the only one.
I am feeling very uneasy. It's good to think of the Bookclub, where only two are a little under 80, two are 90, and the rest in the 80s are going strong.
