Re: View from my sunroom - Carol
I'm not here long enough to give an informed opinion but from what I see, it's well worth the HOA fee. Every morning, someone goes through the entire place and picks up any palm fronds or debris. Once a week, lawns are cut and bushes trimmed. That service costs me $100-$125/mo. on LI and it isn't as thorough. Basic wi-fi and Internet service is included so only premium channels, if wanted, cost extra. I'm not sure about phone service but that may be too. Water and taxes are included. There are similar rules about personal gardening except the area is 3 feet and no feeding the wildlife because it attracts rats. All things I can easily agree with because it keeps the place attractive even with those who have no interest, or are unable to take care of outside. There is a "shop" and tools to borrow for the do-it-yourselfers. Only one small animal is allowed but I know one woman who has two cats and I've seen someone with two tiny dogs. They must be leashed at all times but a neighbor across the street allows his dog free rein on the area in front of his unit. The dog is well trained and when it starts to wander in front of someone else's place, a whistle and it stops in its tracks. Unless they are a nuisance, I doubt that anyone will complain. Two pools, one heated, tennis courts, a charcoal barbecue area and a clubhouse with various activities. So far all is good.
It may be too restrictive for younger people but for an older person, its about as good as it gets.
