Re: Your xmas/holiday plans? Cards
I haven't sent cards in years myself so I don't expect them myself but yes, the numbers have dropped down to just a few that I get. However, other than the merchant ones that go into the trash unless the card itself is pretty, I do get a couple that I look forward to. One is from my former boss. It's been 22 years since we've otherwise been in touch. Every year since I've known him, he sends a card with his family pictures. His young kids are now parents and they are included with their wives and his grandchildren. There's usually a note included with news of people we knew or some new important event. The brother of my dearest friend who passed six years ago always is heard from. Every year since, he's sent an angel related ornament in her memory. His message is always beautiful and never fails to bring me to tears.
Cards and postage have become too expensive to send out just to send them to random people you are in contact with frequently as much as they are nice to see. I have one friend who doesn't sign hers so that the card can be sent back to her again and reused.
