Re: Our "hotel" room
To be honest, this place was in move in condition for the most part. There was nothing wrong with the tiles in the entryway but the kitchen which opens into it needed the linoleum replaced because it was not put down properly and was starting to come up at one end. At the end of the entryway there was an irregular shaped diagonal entry into the living room which was wall-to wall carpeted. From my perspective, it wasn't worn but needed a good professional cleaning to see if some stains would come up. George wanted tile rather than a new rug because its easier to clean up and long lasting. We are on a cement slab and there's no doubt it's the best choice for longevity. The only project that I felt was a necessity was closing up the screen room which is open on two sides. Although a normal rain doesn't come in from what I've seen, a driving rain from the right direction would, as I can see from the ruminants of the past. We've already contracted for that job but it won't be until January, the earliest we could get it done. The woman who owned it, had furnished it tastefully with coordinated quality pieces and maintained it, leaving very few things that I'd be compelled to change or otherwise need to fix. (It's much nicer than my northern home) e.g. I wanted to open a window in the bedroom..the windows were so new and modern, I didn't know how to open them. All the windows have wooden blinds except the glass sliding doors. The wall to wall drapery in the living room had to have been installed professionally.
