As for jobs being so plentiful that is a myth. At least here in FL. Jane with her education and years of experience cannot find a job. She puts in online apps, gets interviewed and then - nothing! She's even putting in apps for related fields. In desperation she even tried UPS. She's 58 yrs old, dresses well, doesn't look her age and is still attractive if a little overweight.
I'm convinced those people I met here over the years living in RVs and tents even were telling the truth. They go on interview after interview and do not get hired. Or they get a part time job in desperation that keeps them down.
I agree the economy is good, there is no doubt for those working, for those who found jobs... but I'm not seeing all those available jobs Trump keeps talking about. What did I hear someone on FOX say not too long ago, "Anyone who wants a job will find one" or something similar. People can't live on part time jobs at Bubba's Burgers or stacking shelves nights in some grocery store for $7 hr.
She's really getting worried now because her unemployment checks run out in 4 weeks and she has no prospects. She has a large car payment to make every month. Could it be her age? Someone giving her a bad reference? Too many people showing up for the same positions? I don't know what to think.
And yes, she is looking in nearby larger cities such as Gainsville.
