Yes, I've looked online, that's how I found the Pasadena group. I've gone once or twice over the years as a guest, and it's a good group, but serious as a heart attack. Younger people who are intent on becoming successful authors and screen writers, etc. Different format, they don't read their work, they send their writing to all the members via email. Everything's on deadline. I don't have the time to make sure I produce a particular number of pages and then be sure to email to the group by a given deadline. My time is really not my own due to Mike.
I've found a few senior centers that offer a writing group in their program. But it's elementary, geared towards seniors who have never written before. I'm not gung-ho like the Pasadena writers who are young enough to want to make it a career, and I'm not a grandma in a senior center choosing a beginner's writing class because the exercise class was full!
I will probably go back to the Jack London Writing Society at the Motion Picture Country Home. You have to have 3 works published to join, and I have.
