The Goodwill and other thrift stores are a little out of the way and with me unable to drive, I seldom get to them. We only hit them when we go for more used cheap books. The Humane Society has the best used books for the cheapest price. I almost always find a gem there. The latest is a large hard covered book on slow cooking for $1.00. I love the book. Another for $1 was written by a woman from London with great pictures covering the cooking of chicken. I love chicken.
As for clothes, I brought enough from TN to last me for years. I occasionally pick up a new blouse or whatever, especially if it's on sale - that's about it.
Oddly enough now that I can well afford to buy whatever my heart desires or appeals to me, I still shop like when I was poor.
