Judy Garland was a very unhappy adult but how could it have been otherwise? Her childhood was stolen from her by unscrupulous movie moguls who told her what to eat, when to sleep, when to wake up, how to behave and provided the pills that made it almost possible for her to function and she was cursed by a Mother who allowed it all to happen.
Judy very much wanted to establish a wholesome relationship with her own children but she simply didn't know how and her children wanted no part of her. For Judy, this was unbareable and at aged 47 she took her own life.
The Wizard Of Oz shows Judy Garland playing the part of a delightful, innocent young girl, part of a delightful fantasy, an absolute dream of a movie. The reality was that Judy Garland was living in a nightmare and I'll never be able to watch the movie again.
